Alarm Lock Networx - AL-IM3-80211 - Generation 3 Wi-Fi Gateway - Compatible with Version 3 Gateways & Backwards Compatible
The objective with all Gateways is to allow DL-Windows to "Discover" the Gateway through the customer's network. For this Discovery process to work, both the Gateway and DLWindows must be connected to the same customer network. The Gateway's network connection can be wired (through an RJ-45 Ethernet network cable) or wireless (through Wi-Fi).
ALL methods previously used with Version 1 and 2 Gateways to make a wired or Wi-Fi connection to the customer's network can also be used with Version 3 Gateways. Version 3 Gateways are backward-compatible and CAN be mixed into an existing system that includes older Version 1 or Version 2 Gateways.
Version 3 Gateways also include the added ability to expand your system with up to seven (7) AL-IME2-EXP Expanders.Ā
Note: AL-IME2-EXP Expanders cannot communicate with older "non-Version 2" Gateways.
